Everything from one hand

SGF is your development partner for agriculture. Together with our customers, we develop products that meet individual requirements. Thanks to over 75 years of experience and our state-of-the-art equipment, we are able to develop solutions for the most demanding tasks. Ready-to-assemble systems made of elastic components with flanges or adapters can be developed, tested and produced due to our great competence.

In-house materials laboratory

When developing products, we use state-of-the-art materials laboratory to ensure best possible solution for your application. In doing so, we develop and process various elastomer compounds (NBR, SBR, EPDM, silicone / VMQ) according to requirements.

Virtual product development

Virtual product development includes multi-body simulation (MBS), finite element method (FEM)  and FKM evaluation (strength verification). Rapid prototyping is used to verify calculation and measurement.

FAQ for our Agricultural Technology Solutions

SGFlex couplings are elastic coupling elements that reliably transmit torque and forces. They dampen torque peaks and reduce vibrations, which extends the service life of machine components. In agricultural engineering, they are used in the drive trains of tractors, harvesters and attachments.
In agricultural engineering, machines face extreme challenges: the time windows for green fodder and field harvesting are often very small, and agricultural machinery is pushed to its limits. Reliable technology that is easy to maintain is important here. The environmental conditions, with dust, dirt, moisture and heat, as well as abrupt load changes due to obstacles such as stones, pose a further challenge. The drive technology is particularly challenged. Misalignment, vibrations and high torque peaks can cause damage to gearboxes and shafts.

SGFlex products, such as SGFlex couplings or the SGFlex 3F series, absorb these loads thanks to their elastic design, minimise wear and ensure smooth power transmission. The result: longer machine service life and less downtime.

The easy use of SGFlex-products and their resistance to harsh environmental conditions have proven themselves in the market.
Tension force principle means that vulcanized-in thread bundles transfer torque as tensile forces. Tenpu® thread technology elastically absorbs torque peaks and reduces start-up shocks. The elastomer protects the thread bundles and minimises vibrations and noise – ideal for quiet and efficient drive systems.
SGFlex products cover a wide range: from 0 to approx. 19,000 Nm for SGFlex couplings, up to 3,240 Nm for the SGFlex-3F series, 3,900–13,200 Nm for the SGFlex LC system and up to 3,240 Nm for the SGFlex 3FD CONNECT drive shaft. This makes them suitable for almost all applications in agricultural technology.
SGFlex products effectively absorb vibrations and load peaks thanks to their elastic thread construction. Misalignment is compensated, so aggregates are protected and machine operation is made quieter and more durable.
Green fodder harvesting requires drive components that can withstand sudden load changes and vibrations. SGFlex couplings and drive shafts dampen vibrations thanks to their thread-reinforced elastomer construction, thereby protecting the tractor and attachment. They also ensure consistent power transmission under difficult conditions such as dust, dirt and moisture.
The robust SGFlex components absorb vibrations and torque peaks, relieve the transmission and frame, and thus ensure the reliability of tractors and self-propelled machines. Their high power density makes them particularly suitable for demanding applications.
The SGFlex-3F series combines flexible joint discs (SGFlex couplings) with robust forged steel flanges. It offers a compact and maintenance-friendly solution that transmits high torques and compensates for misalignments. These characteristics make it a perfect fit for tractors and harvesters.
SGFlex LC couplings offer exceptionally high power density and are completely maintenance-free. They are lubricant-free and resistant to dust, dirt and moisture. This makes them particularly suitable for use in demanding environments such as agricultural machinery.
The SGFlex-3FD-CONNECT is a preconfigured drive shaft or shaft-to-shaft connection that combines an SGFlex-3F coupling with fixed flanges. This system offers a robust and low-maintenance solution for torque transmission in drive systems. Its ability to compensate for misalignment makes it particularly suitable for applications in agricultural technology, such as tractors and self-propelled harvesters, which operate under high loads.
Vibration damping is essential to ensure comfort, safety and the service life of agricultural machinery. Vibration reduction is achieved through various technologies: Products such as SGFlex couplings and parts from the SGFlex 3F series use Tenpu® thread technology to elastically cushion torque peaks. Other solutions, such as the SGFlex LC system, rely on optimised elastomers for vibration damping. This variety of technologies enables SGFlex products to offer maximum efficiency in a wide range of applications.
